The Editor-in-chief, Youssef Khaled Al-Marzouq, met with the Turkish Presidency’s Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, in the presence of our representative in Turkey, M.Alphan Namli.
Altun stressed, during the meeting, that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s relationship with Kuwait is very distinguished and in continuous deepening, and he gets angry if he learns that Kuwait is affected by any harm.
Altun said that President Erdogan is exerting a big effort to cease the Russian-Ukrainian war, pointing out that the West’s accusation of Turkey as siding with Russia and Iran is incorrect, as evidenced by the fact that Turkey is one of the beneficiaries of the cessation of the war so that Ukraines exports will return to Turkey.
He added that the European Union recognized that the continuation of the war would exhaust them, and that they asked President Erdogan to intervene by mediation, being the only one in constant contact, both with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which he had already undertaken, through contacting the two presidents two days ago.
Altun stressed that the doors of Turkey are welcoming to all investors, especially the Kuwaiti investor, pointing out that the volume of Kuwaiti investments in Turkey is very substantial, and that many Kuwaitis own real estate properties inside Turkey, which is a cause of happiness.
He stressed that the Turkish president is always seeksing peaceful and effective resolutions to all the problems that the world is going through with world leaders.
Still, he noted that most politicians are not being honest, which hinders and delays such resolutions.
